Two pedestrians suffered injuries after being struck about 7:30 p.m. by a vehicle  turning onto Thalia Street from Coast Highway on Thursday, March 6.

No one was cited in the incident, Sgt. Louise Callus said. The southbound vehicle had a green light and hit the two pedestrians as they began to cross Thalia northbound, she said.

The male, who was thrown onto the truck, suffered a broken rib, collapsed lung and broken nose, Callus said, while the woman was knocked to the side and suffered a cut to her head. Both were transported to Mission Viejo’s Mission Hospital with injuries, which were not considered life-threatening, she said.

Police have yet to develop any leads to identify the thief that smashed a gallery window and made off with a limited edition $9,500 bronze bison sculpture sometime before 6 a.m. Wednesday, March 5.

Gallery owner Ray Redfern told police he learned of the shattered storefront window from a stockbroker whose office is nearby. Nothing else was reported missing, Sgt. Louise Callus said, noting that video shows a male pushing a Dicks’s Sporting Goods shopping cart heaving a rock through a window in the 1500 block of Coast Highway at 4:24 a.m.
