Saturday, Oct. 5

Petty theft. 8:28 a.m. 800 block of Glenneyre Street. A 62-year-old homeless man was arrested for resisting arrest ($500 bail) and violating post release community supervision (no bail). The man reportedly took sandwiches and soda from a store without paying and then kept walking away from police as they pursued him.

Traffic stop. 3:51 p.m. 1500 block of N. Coast Highway. A 21-year-old woman was arrested for assault and battery and resisting arrest and held for $500 bail.

Drunk driving. 5:52 p.m. S. Coast Highway and Legion Street. A 49-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of DUI and driving with a BAC of .08 or higher and held for $2,500 bail. The driver was allegedly straddling lanes, honking her horn at random, nearly hit a parked car and made an illegal u-turn.

Traffic collision. 6:20 p.m. Phillips Street and Laguna Canyon Road. An elderly man was reportedly hit by a truck.

Drunk Driving. 11:38 p.m. 500 block of S. Coast Highway. A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of DUI and held for $2,500 bail. The man reportedly got into a traffic collision at Legion Street that caused him to drive into a building. There were no injuries reported.

Friday, Oct. 4

Traffic stop. 1:13 p.m. Victory Walk and Woodland Drive. A 25-year-old man was arrested for an outstanding warrant for cultivation of peyote and possession of methamphetamine, and an additional warrant out of Riverside County for misdemeanor corporal injury to spouse ($5,000 bail). The man was also charged with theft ($500 bail), conspiracy ($500 bail), and petty theft ($500 bail). A second 18-year-old male was arrested for theft ($500 bail), being a minor in possession ($500 bail) and petty theft ($500 bail).
