Burglary. 900 block of Quivera St. 9:47 p.m. A local resident recovered goods valued at $2500 as a result of a sheriff’s investigation of a housekeeper, who is suspected in thefts and burglaries of homes where she worked..
Tuesday, Sept. 24
Fraud. 300 block of Santa Rosa St. 10:09 a.m. About $500 has been fraudulently charged to a resident’s credit card in Colorado and Iowa.
Grand theft. 1400 block of Glenneyre St. 1:49 p.m. A couple entered a bookstore and took three books valued at $1,200.
Vehicle burglary. 20600 Laguna Canyon Rd. 3:43 p.m. The passenger side window of a vehicle was smashed and a purse and cell phone taken.
Brandish weapon. 1300 block of S. Coast Highway. 11 p.m. A client brandished a knife at two employees who were attempting to talk to him. The knife was returned and the person wielding it left the property.
Wednesday, Sept. 25
Vehicle burglary. 31800 block of Coast Hwy. 8:19 p.m. A car owner returned 13 hours after parking her vehicle to find a smashed window and a missing purse. A credit card was used at a gas station before being canceled.
Saturday, Sept. 28
Traffic stop. 2200 Laguna Canyon Rd. 1:33 a.m. A 37-year-old Irvine man was cited for DUI and held for $2500 bail.
Vandalism. 200 block of Thalia St. 6:25 a.m. A front window was smashed overnight, causing $200 in damage.
Stolen vehicle. Cress St. 5:07 p.m. A garage sale shopper, who left his keys in the ignition and a 20-pound rat terrier in the car, returned to find his ‘95 black BMW 525 gone.
Pedestrian stop. Ocean Front. Derrick Ashton Mayo, 43, of Sacramento, was arrested for two outstanding warrants. Bail was set at $30,000.
Sunday, Sept. 29
Traffic stop. 100 block N. Coast Hwy. Richard Navor Garcia, 28, of Hot Springs, Ark., was arrested for suspicion of possessing a meth pipe and a small quantity of the drug. Bail was set at $20,000.
