Mixed martial arts fighter Jason “Mayhem” Miller was arrested on multiple charges after police were called to a disturbance at the White House restaurant Saturday, March 7.

The restaurant’s usual crowd included boxing fans and mixed martial arts fighters, invited by Tom Atencio to see a live boxing bout broadcast. The restaurant employee and former fight promoter was promoting the kick off of a new clothing line, Lions to Lambs.

Event promoter Jon Shakill says Miller was not one of the special guests, but he definitely kicked the event to another level.

When police were summoned about 11:30 p.m. for a disturbance inside the bar, Miller fled out the front entrance, Sgt. Tim Kleiser said. As officers attempted to contact him, he reversed direction and ran south into a group of waiting officers who tried to grab him. Miller resisted efforts by police to restrain him before a large crowd.

When four officers did eventually detain him, Miller continued to kick and spit at them, behavior that continued inside the police cruiser as well, Kleiser said.

Miller was ultimately transported to Orange County Jail for resisting arrest, battery on a police officer, and unlawful fighting, Kleiser said. No officers were injured.

Stefanee Ann Cardinale, 20, of Lake Forest, was arrested for suspicion of felony drunk driving in Laguna Beach when a bystander was injured from the impact of a collision with a parked car Saturday, March 7, Kleiser said.

Cardinale’s vehicle struck a parked car about 4:50 p.m. near the bus depot on Broadway Street, Kleiser said. A driver of a parked vehicle was standing on the sidewalk next to the vehicle and was thrown from the impact. The pedestrian sustained a non-life threatening injury, he said.

Bail was set at $100,000.
