Fraud. 800 block of Canyon View Dr. 11:54 a.m. Someone opened a cell phone account in a resident’s name.
Tuesday, Dec. 30
Burglary. 1400 block of N. Coast Hwy. 8:25 a.m. Items worth $500 were taken from a locked vehicle.
Vehicle burglary. 19200 block of Laguna Canyon Rd. 9:32 a.m. A car was entered and valuables worth $2,000 were taken while the owner was hiking.
Vandalism. Cliff Dr. 12:19 p.m. A 12-year-old boy from Aliso Viejo threw a rock and smashed a window in a public restroom. He was in the company of a local boy.
Detective activity. 600 block of N. Coast Hwy. 4:51 p.m. Joshua Drew Riesche, 23, of Laguna Hills, was arrested for suspicion of selling pot and held for $25,000 bail after he sold two pounds to narcotics investigators. They responded to his Craigslist ad and met him in a market parking lot.
Wednesday, Dec. 31
Vandalism. 1200 block of Anacapa Way. 4:46 p.m. A neighbor cut down several feet of bamboo.
Defraud innkeeper. 200 block of Ocean Ave. 7:25 p.m. Adam C. Gomez, 25, of Lake Forest, was arrested for suspicion of battery after he allegedly assaulted a restaurant owner in a parking lot. The assault followed earlier friction over an unpaid bill and escalated after the patron allegedly spit on the owner.
Thursday, Jan. 1
Traffic stop. Cress St. 1:13 a.m. A 22-year-old Huntington Beach man was cited for DUI and held for $2500 bail.
Occupied vehicle. 1500 block of S. Coast Hwy. 1:32 a.m. A juvenile was detained and a 22-year-old Santa Ana man cited for DUI and held for $2500 bail.
Assault. El Bosque. 1:51 a.m. A man involved in a fight over a woman was knocked out and suffered a seizure. He was transported to the hospital. No arrests were made.
Property. 100 block of McKnight Dr. 1:44 p.m. A resident found a statue dumped in his yard.
Suspicious circs. 15-00011. Brooks St. 8:10 p.m. Colby Blake Outlaw, 44, of Santa Ana, was issued a misdemeanor citation for suspicion of possession of a methamphetamine after officers located two bindles of methamphetamine in the driver’s side door. He was stopped due to a report of domestic violence.
Friday, Jan. 2
Hazardous condition. 500 block of San Nicholas Cr. 11:56 a.m. Sewage seeped from a manhole into storm drains.
Injury collision. Coast Hwy. 12:32 p.m. A 6-year-old passenger suffered a leg injury when the car she was in was hit from behind.
Grand theft. 1800 block of S. Coast Hwy. 1 p.m. A brick saw valued at $1500 was stolen from a business.
DUI. Forest Ave. 8:38 p.m. A 30-year-old Laguna Beach resident was arrested for DUI after he failed to negotiate a turn and slid off his motorcycle. He was uninjured.
Vehicle burglary. 1300 block of Cliff Dr. 9 p.m. A cell phone worth $400 and credit cards were stolen in a car break-in.
Saturday, Jan. 3
Traffic stop. Mermaid St. 1:30 a.m. A 44-year-old Tustin woman was cited for DUI and held for $2500 bail.
Traffic collision. 1500 block of Glenneyre St. 12:50 p.m. A parked car was damaged by a car that rolled into it from a parking spot.
Fraud report. 800 block of Acapulco St. 1:35 p.m. A thief is fraudulently using personal checks stolen from a car break-in at the Dilley Preserve.
Paramedic. Cliff Dr. 7:19 p.m. Divers completing a night dive discovered a 33-year-old San Clemente man unresponsive on the beach. They started CPR, but the man, who was apparently alone but had a dive mask with him, died after being taken for medical treatment. Foul play is not suspected.
Sunday, Jan. 4
Burglary. 2700 block of Temple Hills Dr. 1:07 a.m. Police arrested a disoriented 23-year-old Laguna Niguel man for being drunk in public after a resident reported an attempted break-in.
